HARD-WORKING Alex Chilcott, from Wellington, a sales administrator with Persimmon Homes South West, has been named employee of the year for 2016.

Alex, 20, who won the same award last year, began working for the company as a part-time trainee at the age of 16 while studying Business at college.

She said: “It was a huge shock to win the award for a second time. It’s nice all of my hard work has been recognised. I’ve had an excellent four years with the company and I’m looking forward to the future and seeing how far I can go.”

Alex received an engraved glass plaque to keep on her mantlepiece.

Nina Hester, sales and marketing director at Persimmon Homes SW, said: “Alex puts in extra hours every day and tries to help every department. She has done incredibly well and is a real credit to the trainee scheme.”
