WELLINGTON’S oldest firm, the textile company Fox Bros, which has been making the world’s finest cloth for well over two centuries, is enjoying a boom time with business nearly 20 per cent up on last year and with an even bigger rise in sales to France.
And managing director Douglas Cordeaux, who is currently at a trade fair in Milan, is optimistic demand for Fox’s cloth will continue to increase in the months ahead, with the focus being made to step up sales in Italy, which he is hoping will prove extremely successful.
“It has been a very good trading year with far-reaching developments,” he said. “We have had a strong focus in Japan and a really fantastic year in France where there has been a really keen interest in men’s wear. Men are looking after the way they dress and we are seeing the benefit of that.
