A WELLINGTON mother-of-four will be taking to the road in a lorry for the first time next week in her fight against the rising cost of living.
Charlotte Loren, 33, has left her job as a shop assistant at Beech Hill Stores after passing her HGV licence at the end of last month.
Charlotte, who lives with her partner Steven Brown, also a lorry driver, and her children, said yesterday: “I am fed up with having to struggle financially every day and saying ‘No’ to everything they want.”
Charlotte’s children range from two to 13. She said: “I will be home every night - I wouldn’t want to leave the kids - and my sister lives with us and she will keep an eye on them. I love driving and am really looking forward to my new job. I found it daunting driving a lorry for the first time. But Taunton Driver Training - based at Westonzoyland - were brilliant and put me at ease.”
Charlotte says she will be earning at least twice the money in her new job.
