FESTIVE shoppers are invited to a free Christmas Craft Fair & Made At Rumwell Tasting Weekend at an award-winning Somerset farm shop on Saturday and Sunday, November 7 and 8.
Rumwell Farm Shop, on the A38 between Taunton and Wellington, is hosting the event from 9 am until 4 pm in its Rumwell Orchard event space.
Partner at the award-winning Farm Shop and Café, Sophie Mitchell, said: “We will be giving visitors the opportunity to sample many of our Taste of the West award-winning Made At Rumwell food products, including items from our Bakery and Cake Kitchens, Gluten Free Kitchen, Deli and Butchery.”
The Farm Shop took away a whole host of awards from the Taste of the West Awards including a Gold award for it’s White Sourdough loaf in the Savoury Bakery section, a Gold for it’s Gluten Free Bakewell Blondie in the Free From category, and two further Gold awards for it’s Lardy Cake and Shortbread Bakewell in the Sweet Bakery and Desserts category.
Sophie added: “Those who come along will be able to meet the teams behind the products, discover how they are made and enjoy tasting some of the delicious food we produce right here.
“Many of the items we make feature produce from our own farm, including our Angus beef, free-range pork, eggs and homegrown potatoes.
“We’ll also have numerous stallholders selling homemade and handcrafted products including gifts, bags, books, home accessories, candles, jewellery, wreaths, decorations, soaps, glassware, stationery and even reindeer food.”
Rumwell’s Charity of the Year, Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, will be on site throughout the weekend to chat to visitors about its work and raise funds.
Shoppers will also be able to pick up festive food pre-order forms to help them plan ahead for Christmas celebrations.
The Christmas Craft Fair & Made At Rumwell Tasting Weekend will be held indoors in the Rumwell Orchard event space and admission is free.
The Farm Shop’s Food to Go Takeaway and award-winning Café will be open throughout both days serving refreshments as normal.
Sophie adds: “With lots of visitors expected throughout the weekend, our Café will be operating on a first come, first served basis and we won’t be taking bookings – our online system will not be accessible.
“This gives everyone the chance to enjoy a bite to eat while soaking up the festive atmosphere. We won’t be doing a carvery on the Sunday but will be serving a plated roast.
“We expect to be busy, so please arrive in plenty of time and enjoy browsing while you wait for a table. Please also not we’re not doing a carvery on the Sunday of this weekend.
“Whether you’re getting ahead with Christmas shopping, planning your festive menu or simply looking for a fun day out with family and friends, we'd love to see you.
“With two full days of tastings, shopping and festive inspiration, it promises to be the perfect way to kick off our countdown to Christmas 2026.”
