RUTH Slade and her sister Ali Beaver are raising money for the baby charity Tommy’s in memory of their niece Emma who was ‘born sleeping’ earlier this year.
Tommy’s funds research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature death and provides pregnancy health information to parents.
The sisters’ first event is a cake, craft and play morning at Wellington Baptist Church Hall 10am-noon, on Saturday.
Home-made cakes will be for sale for grown ups to indulge in with a ‘cuppa’ while little ones get stuck into badge-making, face painting, craft activities and biscuit decorating.
Rebecca from Toddler Sense Mid Devon will be providing a soft play area for under-fives to explore. All activities £1 each.
Ruth and Ali are also running the London half-marathon in March next year. Ali said: “I wanted to do something in Emma’s honour to show how important she is to our family and that she will always be remembered.”
