FLAMES leap from a car left at St John’s Church in High Street, Wellington, last Thursday morning.

A small group of people watched from the pavement at the entrance to the church.

One fire engine from Wellington quickly came along and put out the fire in the car’s engine compartment with a hose reel jet.

The crew confirmed the cause as accidental.
