WELLINGTON town councillors have paid tribute to Josephine Chave, described as an 'amazing woman' who has been a driving force behind Wellington Carnival for more than three decades.
The public benches at Monday's council meeting were packed with friends and family to see Mrs Chave receive a plaque and framed certificate from Town Mayor Gloria Copley on behalf of the council.
