YOUNG Wellington author Elizabeth Jade, who has Asperger’s Syndrome, has launched a new children’s book.
The 19-year-old launched ‘Akea - The Power of Destiny’ at the Cats Protection Homing and Information Centre at the Blackdown Garden Centre, near Wellington.
Elizabeth Jade has always had a passion for animals and is known as ‘The Cat Whisperer’ by staff at Cats Protection at the garden centre where she volunteers.
Some 25% from each book sold on the day went to the charity and £14 was raised.
The book is aimed at eight-12-year-olds and follows the young husky Akea through the unexpected twists and turns of a ‘journey’ that will change not just her own life but the lives of almost everyone she meets.
It is the first in a series of adventures planned for Akea and can now be purchased through W H Smith or online at Amazon priced £6.99.
