CRAFT market stallholders will be celebrating the start of their first festive season on Saturday as Wellington’s Christmas lights are officially switched on.

Although it is usually held on the third Saturday of each month, Wellington Craft Market will be holding an extra session this week to double trading opportunities for its crafters.

Both this week’s and the December 16 craft market will also have extended opening times of 9am-2pm, while there will also be a Santa’s grotto and a Wellington Farmers’ Market at the same time.

The craft market was only started in April by three friends, Maxine Price, Charlotte Beatty, and Laura Knight.
