HEMYOCK Baptist Church is celebrating the 16th anniversary of its Chapel Cafe today (Wednesday, May 15).

It opens every Wednesday from 9-11.30am and welcomes people of all ages, with facilities for young children to play while adults enjoy a coffee and a chat.

Since Christmas everyone has been busy knitting squares to make up blankets for Children’s Hospice South West, which will be presented this morning.

No charge is made for food and drink at the cafe. Customers give donations as they leave which go to support Christian workers connected with the Baptist Church based in Japan, Peru and Cyprus.
