SOMERSET’S oldest cider maker, Sheppy’s Cider, has won gold at The International Brewing and Cider Awards for the newest cider in its range, Vintage Cloudy, as well as taking home a gold award for its Vintage Perry and a silver award for Sheppy’s 200 cider.

The coveted awards saw just three cider makers take home a prize and, as one of the oldest and most respected cider families in the world, Sheppy’s said it is extremely proud to add these highly regarded accolades to its expanding list of awards.

Held at the Guildhall in London, both Sheppy’s managing director, David Sheppy and director Louisa Sheppy, were in attendance to collect their trophy’s at the ceremony which is the oldest and most distinguished of its kind – often dubbed “the Oscars of the brewing industry”.

Sheppy’s managing director David commented: “We are beyond thrilled to have won multiple accolades at The International Brewing and Cider Awards, and to be able to attend the first awards ceremony post-pandemic was extremely special.

“As one of only three cider makers to win an award, we couldn’t be prouder that our newest cider has been recognised. To have other cider makers recognise us at this level demonstrates the quality of our cider and skills of our team.”
