Planners approve redevelopment of post-war Wellington agri-yard for modern tradingFormer chairman Cllr Alison Weekes said a ‘really successful meeting’ was held with volunteers and a team including digger drivers and others would be led by Malcolm Carter.
Cllr Weekes said: “It will not happen overnight and there are bound to be some conflicting priorities, but the council is now confident this scheme will work.
“People can offer help whether for a few hours on a weekend or perhaps a day or two for a big project.”
Cllr Weekes said the county council also appeared finally to have admitted it would not do ditch clearing and other work, instead leaving it to landowners.
