A SCHOOLGIRL from Milverton has spoken of her delight at receiving a thank you from the Queen - on Her Majesty’s birthday.

Clemmie S-B, who is nine and attends King’s Hall School, Taunton, was so moved by the news that the Queen was suffering from Covid and had to cancel some of her appointments at the start of her Platinum Jubilee Year, that she wrote a letter to Her Majesty wishing her well.

In her letter Clemmie (pictured), who hails from Milverton, chatted about her pets and her love of pony.

She also sent some illustrations of her dogs Widget and Pickle, a jubilee cake, as well as a Union Flag and concluded by wishing Her Majesty a speedy recovery.

To Clemmie’s surprise and delight she received a reply, appropriately enough on Her Majesty’s birthday, which she was really thrilled about.
