The Lang Room at All Saints’ Church, Rockwell Green, saw a busy coffee morning with an array of home-made cakes on Saturday.

A spokesperson said: “It was nice to see so many people, especially from outside the church, and a total of £127 was made which will go towards the Spire Appeal. Cllr Marcus Barr also called in to give encouragement.”

Repair costs for the spire are still unknown but steeplejacks will be at the church on August 14-15 to carry out survey.
