Jenny and Lis are going for a run. Not just any run. The Bath Half Marathon.

Jenny and Lis both work with the Wellington Monument project and they want to raise funds to add to the remaining £1.2 million still needed. They are passionate about the monument.

On March 17 they’re taking on this huge challenge. Jenny is new to the world of running and Lis sprained her ankle the last time she attempted it, so this decision is a brave one!

Jenny and Lis said: “We want to help because Wellington Monument is more than just a pillar of historical importance. It strikes a chord of affection in many people’s hearts. The community know it as a place for dog walks, celebration and family. For many it’s a symbol of home and holiday, adventure and safety, and sparks memories in communities near and far.

“By sponsoring our running of the Bath Half Marathon, you’re helping the National Trust team look after this special place for ever – and you’ll keep us motivated during these winter months of cold runs. We’re grateful for anything you can give.”

If you would like to show your support, you will find a Just Giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/wellingtonmonumentnt

Alternatively, a cheque addressed to National Trust can be sent to Jenny and Lis at National Trust Estate Office, Fyne Court, Broomfield, Somerset TA5 2EQ.

Please be assured that every penny you donate will be put towards Wellington Monument. And, just to add, while I will not be running – though that would be hilarious – I will be with the rest of the project team cheering them at the finish in Wellington boots.
