HUNDREDS of people turned out for the annual countryside Skills in the Hills event at Harts Farm, Bolham Water.

The Blackdown Hills Hedge Association event at Richard and Kathleen Kallaway’s farm was based around a hedgelaying competition.

But it also included activities for youngsters including a treasure hunt style quiz, craftsmen demonstrating green woodworking skills, a demonstration of turf banking, cookery competition, live music and rural skills and trade stands.

Smeatharpe WI (right) provided food and refreshments at the event.
