COURT Fields School’s climbing squad came away with second place in the South West Schools Championships.

The standard of competition was much higher than previous years and the school team contained three young novice climbers who showed a great deal of persistence over a long, tiring day.

Joe Walmsley flashed every route and won his category in the British Youth Series contest the previous day, which means he will be travelling to Edinburgh for the national finals at the end of April.
