A new community craft group has opened in Angersleigh.

The Finishing School provides a friendly and supportive space where hobby needleworkers and crafters can complete their projects in company with others.

“It’s easy to start a project, but often less easy to finish it, particularly if you get stuck on a tricky bit,” says group founder Ann-Marie Boyle. “With us, if you get stuck, there’s usually someone who can give advice or encouragement, share ideas or skills.”

Since it opened, all sorts of projects have been completed successfully, including caravan curtains, bags, bunting, blankets, knitting, appliqué, crochet and even mending. The group has also just run its first ‘learn to’ workshop which it hopes will become a regular event.

The group runs every Tuesday during term time in Angersleigh Village Room from 7-9pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend on a drop-in basis and the cost of £3 per session goes entirely to supporting the group.
