WELLINGTON Cricket Club was bowled over by the success of its winter coaching sessions and said they were the best so far.

The club has recently thanked Wellington Town Council for a £985 grant towards the costs of the sessions which catered for 103 young people aged between four and 16.

The coaching was so popular that extra sessions had to be fitted in to cater for demand.

“We’d like to thank the town council for its continuing support,” said a club spokesman.
