PEDESTRIANS in Wellington could get a new crossing in the town's High Street.

And villagers in Bradford on Tone are hoping for a new foot way.

The schemes are among 39 submitted to the county council by local councillors in bids for a share of £2.5m towards improving roads in their area.

They applied to the county council's capital budget to fund one or two Small Improvement Schemes focused on improving local highways and road safety.

The council's highway engineers will now assess each scheme against design and budget restrictions.
