A team of three cyclists are set to embark on a 1,500 mile bike ride that will terminate in Wellington's twin town of Torres Vedras in Portugal.
Pedro Narciso, 51, Paulo Serra, 44, and Nelson Silva, 50, will be flying from the Portuguese town into Bristol airport, before travelling to Wellington and making the journey home by bike. On route they will visit the city of Lagos, Portugal and Villenave d'Ornon, in Bordeaux, France.
The cross-continent ride is set to take 16 days to complete, with the cyclists aiming to travel 93 miles per day.

The initiative is being supported by a number of bodies, from Portuguese fruit growers Emergosol, to Wellington Town Council. In all the expedition is expected to cost around £5,800.
On arrival in Wellington Pedro, Paulo and Nelson will be welcomed by the mayor in the town council chamber, where a flag signing ceremony will be held and an exchange of gifts will take place. The trio will then head to the Beambridge for a meal before setting down for the night.
The cyclists are set to arrive in Wellington on April 28, in the mid-afternoon. The following morning they will leave to take photographs by the Wellington monument before crossing into the continent by ferry.
