THE past-chairman of Somerset County Council, Nigel Taylor, died last week, less than three months since he said an emotional farewell to councillors in February.

He had represented Cheddar since 2017 and was also chairman of the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty management partnership.
