SHANE Mace, activity lead for dementia charity Reminiscence Learning in Wellington, has been nominated in the activity organiser category in this year’s National Care Awards.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “Shane is known locally for going above and beyond during local community sessions and events, always coming up with interesting and engaging activities for those living with dementia/memory problems.

“During Covid-19 he has really worked to ensure that local clients have not been forgotten and has gone the extra mile, even organising door-step sing-a-longs to keep up spirits.

“We wish him the best of luck with the nomination.”
