ORGANISERS of the Longrun Dog Festival held in Taunton have thanked traders in Wellington who helped the event raise £1,400.

The event celebrated everything about dogs and raised £700 each for St Giles Dogs for Adoption Rescue Centre at Wrantage and the Oldies Club Dog Rescue, which helps find homes for overlooked older rescue dogs.

Katharine Brunsch said: “The Longrun Dog Festival Team would like to say a massive thank you to all the local traders in Wellington, especially Tim Potter butchers, which supplied the liver for the much-loved liver pup cakes, and all who generously donated prizes for the tombola, which without which we would not have been able to have raised such a fantastic amount.”
