?MEMBERS of Wiveliscombe & District Canine Society, including the four-pawed variety, have presented St Margaret’s Hospice with a cheque for £1,271.97 raised from their successful companion dog show held in October last year.
Society assistant secretary Michael Masters said: “We were thrilled by the support we received from local and national businesses, and from our members for this companion dog show and thank everyone who helped to make it such a successful event.
“We very much hope to make it an annual event as it proved so popular. We are delighted to support St Margaret’s by donating the proceeds of our event to our local Somerset Hospice.”
The hospice provides high quality, responsive and compassionate care to people across Somerset who face a life-limiting illness. It has hospice units in Taunton and Yeovil, and five community nursing teams caring for more than 3,800 people each year.
Jane Lillis, community fundraiser for St Margaret’s Hospice, said: “We are truly grateful to everyone at Wiveliscombe & District Canine Society who was involved in the organisation and staging of the companion dog show in aid of St Margaret’s and for raising such a fantastic sum.
“Your generosity will help us to make every day count for our patients and their families.”
