Dragon’s Den star Deborah Meaden will present an award at the new Taunton Deane Business Awards this summer.

Deborah, one of the business ‘dragons’ on the BBC television show, will present the commendation award at a ceremony at the Castle Hotel in Taunton on June 16.

Spokesperson Pam Knight said: “This prize will be given to the business which is clearly the overall deserving winner.”

The awards are now open for businesses based in Taunton Deane. Categories include: micro business of the year – up to three employees; small business of the year – four to ten employees; medium business of the year – 11-plus employees; start up (up to two years); corporate social responsibility; retail shop front; and commendation award.

A workshop on February 11 facilitated by award sponsor ActionCoach will help applicants develop their entries for the awards.
