YOUTHS repeatedly stole, attempted to steal, spat at and verbally abused staff at the Asda supermarket in Wellington over a period of several hours one evening last week.

A member of staff at Asda, who did not want to be named, said the youngsters ranged from the age of 11 upwards and included girls as well as boys.
The supermarket worker said: “The gang of youths thought it would be great fun to abuse staff all evening long. One kid stood there pointing and shouting at staff and saying you’re a ****, you’re **** and, oh, you’r a ****.”
She said a youth ran into the store and stole a party pack of cider and then youngsters were seen drinking at the bus stop in High Street. They became intoxicated and kept going back to the store to steal more alcohol.
