EASTER came a couple of days early for residents of Linden House Nursing Home, Lower Westford, when chicks that had been incubating at the home started to hatch.

Jane Richards, deputy matron, told the WWN: "Our carer, Peter Pavey, who rears chickens, brought in two dozen eggs and kept them in an incubator for a fortnight.

"They suddenly started hatching on Thursday.

"It was a lovely surprise for our residents."

She added: "Ths chicks went home with Peter after hatching."
