WELLINGTON Museum & Local History Centre in The Squirrel, Fore Street, is now open for more hours.

The new extended hours are: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 4pm and Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10am to 1pm.

There are some new displays this year include some Royal Jubilee items from 1887 to 2012 and pictures illustrating some of Wellington’s more extreme weather events over the last 125 years.

The museum plays a significant role in presenting the town to visitors, new residents, old residents and schools.
