Don't get caught out by changes to Wellington area recycling and waste collectionsQueues caused by traffic lights at the junction of Longforth Road and High Street have frequently tailed back through the town centre crossroads, causing further jams in North Street, South Street and Fore Street.
Several attempts over the years to tweak the phasing of the lights have made little or no impact on the situation.
Now, Somerset County Council is to install right-turn lanes along the High Street axis, which will allow two-way traffic flows and keep more vehicles moving for longer.
Waits for the green traffic signal in Longforth Road should be shorter, meaning a reduction in the existing levels of queuing.
