A YOUTH charity, offering a wide variety of services and opportunities for young people across the county is hosting an Open Evening to showcase its services.

In The Mix Project based at Wiveliscombe’s Hub Centre offers open access groups such as holiday club and weekly youth clubs focussed on young people primarily including one-to-one support for post-16 young people, and a variety of alternative provision.

They also professional youth work, support and activities to young people in Wellington, Wiveliscombe, and across the wider county.

Each year they accompany a group through their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award; this year they worked with a cohort from Pyrlands School to achieve their awards.

They also offer services to the wider community including their space in Wiveliscombe being available for hire, pantry sessions where people can get a number of food/household items for just £2, and fundraising events with recent events including a Wine Tasting evening, Classic Car Show, and an upcoming Car Boot Sale.

The Open Evening on Wednesday July 8 will give visiting families and parents the chance to meet the team, learn about their range of services, and how they support young people, offer ways to get involved and include a tour of the Hub Centre.

The evening will take the form of a drop-in session, starting at 6 pm until 8.30 pm at Wiveliscombe Hub Centre.

A spokesperson said: “Whether you're a parent, young person, local resident, partner organisation, volunteer, or simply curious about what we do, we'd love to welcome you.”

BBQ and refreshments will be provided on the night.

The team will also be delivering activities for Happy Healthy Holidays Somerset over the Summer Holidays with activities available in the Wiveliscombe area for young people.

Bookings will open on June 30.
