A DAZZLING fireworks display is promised as St Margaret’s Hospice Care returns for a second year to Taunton Racecourse for an evening of entertainment for the whole family.
The hospice’s Fireworks Night on Friday, October 30 will feature a spectacular display choreographed to music by Sonic Fireworks, alongside a food and drink offering.
While the fireworks bring people together for an evening in their local community, the event will also help St Margaret’s provide care to people in communities across Somerset.
Their community nursing teams support people living with life-limiting illnesses in their own homes, helping them to manage their symptoms, maintain their independence and spend time in familiar surroundings, while supporting their families too.
Events like the fireworks night help raise the funds needed to continue providing specialist hospice care, free of charge, to people who need it.
For every 100 adults attending fireworks night, ticket sales could generate the equivalent cost of 12 visits by a community nurse to patients in their own homes, before event costs are deducted.
St Margaret’s event manager Merle Harrison-Croft said: “After bringing people together for our first fireworks night last year, we're really looking forward to returning to Taunton Racecourse.
“It’s a chance for families and friends to enjoy a great evening out, knowing they're also supporting hospice care in their local community.
“Every ticket helps us continue providing specialist care to people across Somerset, whether that's a nurse visiting someone at home, helping a patient manage their symptoms or supporting a family through a difficult time.
“We hope people will join us for another memorable evening and help make a difference to local families.”
Sponsored by David Wilson Redrow South West, gates open at 5.30 pm, with the display starting at 7.30 pm. Tickets are available online or on the gate on the night. Under 3s go free.
