EVA Mae Halliwell, aged ten, from Wellington has been selected to join Exeter Gymnastics Club’s elite squad.

Eva, who started gymnastics late age 8 due to a history of epilepsy and urticaria, wowed the coaches during a recent open waiting list holiday session and received her invitation and contract just days after.

Eva attended a holiday camp with Olympic gymnast Louis Smith two years ago and he was very impressed.

She attends St George’s Catholic School at The Mount, Taunton, and will now be added to the Gifted and Talented register so that the required dedication can be made to training four times a week in Exeter.

Eva lives with her Mum Elena and has a sister Lucie, aged 14, who was also a keen gymnast, but is now into surfing.

Eva previously attended Tone gymnastics at recreational level and tried her hand at Whirlwinds dmt, but realised her true talent lies with gymnastics.
