REPAIRS to two buildings in Cornhill, damaged by fire a few days after Christmas last year will cost £250,000.
An application for full planning permission for repairs to historic buildings that used to be home to award-winning fish shop Don Jones fishmongers, and the Cornhill Tearoom, and conversion of an existing single flat into six one-bedroom flats at 1 and 1A, Cornhill, has been submitted to Taunton Deane planners.
But Taunton Deane planning officer John Hamer has already expressed concern with the proposals, saying he has "serious reservations" about the quality of building materials proposed.
