THE Oake fete and car boot sale raised more than £2,000 despite the number of visitors being a little down on normal because of Wimbledon and the World Cup.
The money will go to the Friends of Oake, Bradford & Nynehead Primary School and Oake and District Hall.
The event included all the usual stalls, games for children, local businesses and the village shop, an egg-throwing contest, and the car boot sale proved especially popular.
10Radio was present and High Park Music Project from Wivelsicombe and the village school choir provided entertainment.
