AN 11-a-side football match will take place in memory of Rachel Britton who died almost two years ago.

Rachel, who was only 41, was well known in Wellington and a very popular member of the community. Her partner Phil and children Jordan, Taylor and Caitlin all live in Wellington.

The memorial match will feature Wellesley Park Veterans and their counterparts from Wellington FC. The players will wear black armbands and a minute’s silence will be observed before the game.

The players have agreed to donate money and it is hoped that any spectators who come along to honour Rachel will also contribute.

All funds collected will go to The Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital.

It has made Musgrove Park Hospital, run by Taunton & Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, a centre of excellence in the delivery of cancer treatment for the people of Somerset.

The match will take place on Wellington School’s all-weather pitch on Sunday, November 27 at 11am.

People are urged to go along to honour Rachel and help support the fantastic work of The Beacon Centre.
