WELLINGTON Croquet Club welcomed Exeter to Oake for the ‘Wellington Boot’ match.

This event normally takes place annually and players have become friends over the years.

The winner is awarded the ‘Wellington Boot’ trophy.

Seven games were played - one doubles and six singles. The friendly rivalry continued throughout the day until the final game was timed-out and Exeter were the overall winners by four games to three.

Wellington chairman Heather MacKenzie presented the trophy to Exeter’s captain Gordon Edwards.
