STAFF at the Green Dragon in South Street, Wellington, have handed over £1,000 to a town pre-school after fasting for February.
The team, along with managers Beccy and Jamie Holmes, shunned treats such as chocolate, sweets, cakes, crisps and nibbles, and customers made donations in support of their efforts.

Pre-school will use the money to pay for an outdoor wooden play slide castle.
The equipment will have climbing ramps to develop the children’s core strength and physical skills, and complete the garden renovation.
Pre-school manager Sheryl Higgs said: “We thanked the Green Dragon for such an amazing effort and for supporting a local charity. We understood the effort it took as several members of staff joined in with the event.
“We are aware that they support many charities throughout the year and feel that the whole team deserves recognition for their community spirit.”
