WORK starts in 10 days’ time on upgrading Wiveliscombe’s gas mains to be capable of transporting hydrogen and biomethane fuels in the future.
Wales and West Utilities said the project would be completed by early September, barring any engineering difficulties.
The firm said gas engineers would be on site throughout the project to make sure it was completed as safely and as quickly as possible.
Traffic management measures would be necessary at different times in Ford Road, Station Road, Church Street, Mill Lane, Rotton Row, and Russell’s.
Project manager Roxanne Whittaker said: “This work is essential to keep gas flowing to homes and businesses and make sure the network is ready to transport hydrogen and biomethane, so we can all play our part in a green future.”
