Wellesley Park Primary School had a ‘fantastic’ sports day – the sun shone and smiling faces were seen all around the field.
All of the children have been congratulated by their teachers for being ‘absolutely amazing’ in their determination and clear support of each other: “The essence of Wellesley Park spirit!”
The children adapted to the unique structure this year. They remained in their bubble groups and rotated around activities with their class teachers and support staff, who cleaned all equipment between groups. Having the restrictions in place gave the school an excellent opportunity to enable all children to participate in each event. There was a strong team spirit and collaborative cheering for class members.
Wellesley Park hopes to return to normal operations next year and appreciates the support from parents and carers with the unusual circumstances this year.
Wellesley Park Primary would like to thank the house captains who went the extra mile, arriving at school early to help set up.
The winning house this year was Quantock Green, closely followed by Mendip Red, Exmoor Yellow and Blackdown Blue.
