LOCAL MP Rebecca Pow revealed on Thursday (February 1) the Government was about to launch a ‘radical’ new plan to provide NHS dental services.
Ms Pow’s announcement followed a meeting she held with new Dental Minister Dame Andrea Leadsom.
She told the Minister ‘in no uncertain terms’ how it was ‘unacceptable’ that there was a lack of NHS dentists right across Taunton Deane.
Ms Pow said the Minister assured her that a dental recovery plan was due to be launched ‘imminently’.

“I have worked with Government to feed in many proposals and suggestions as to how to improve the situation on the ground, which included mobile dentists and a proposal to prioritise those who have not seen a dentist for more than two years, as well as children, when more capacity comes on-stream.
“I received assurances from the Dental Minister that the new dental recovery plan will be launched imminently and that it will be radical.
“This announcement cannot come a moment too soon.”
