PUPILS and staff at Langford Budville Primary School have been celebrating their recent Ofsted report.

An inspector reported after a visit to the two-class school on the outskirts of Wellington that ‘this school continues to be good’.

The report praises the school for focusing on high expectations for all children while keeping an enthusiasm for learning at the heart of all that happens there.

The report also includes comments about the strength of parental support for the school – it says parents appreciate the school’s recognition of each pupil’s uniqueness and the help each pupil receives to achieve their best.

The children’s comments were also positively recorded, stating that lessons were fun, and that children recognise and value the support they receive from staff to help them achieve well.

Head of school Jane Major said: “We were thrilled to receive this positive report. There have been a number of changes at Langford in the past 18 months, with new staff and different approaches to the curriculum being introduced.

“New and existing staff have bonded together successfully, and strive to make the children’s experiences at school positive and happy ones, as well as delivering a curriculum which is particularly challenging with our multi-cohort classes and the diverse needs of our children.

“It was very satisfying to see everyone’s hard work being rewarded in this way with the systems we have put in place to raise standards being so soundly verified. We can now continue to grow and develop as a school – and hopefully find time to have fun as well!’’

n Mrs Major added that a few spaces are available in Key Stage 1 from September – Years R, 1 and 2. Anyone interested in a place for their child is invited to phone for an appointment to meet her and look around the school.
