TWO young local men have been given an award for their efforts as volunteers for Baxters Horse and Pony Rescue.

Alex Healey, of Priory, Wellington, and Jon Pritchard, of Langford Budville, won the Taunton rescue centre’s Outstanding Achievement Award in recognition of the time and effort they put into the tree, shrub and landscape works they did there.

The Court Fields School, Wellington, old boys, who set up in business last year as J & A Garden Services, had answered the centre’s appeal for help on Somerset Buy & Sell.

Centre owner Jennifer Gibson said: “All of us here would like to thank J&A Garden Service for providing their time and skills in helping redevelop our premises. They have given endless hours of work to make this possible.”
