Planning applications in and around Wellington from Somerset CouncilWellington and Taunton fire crews were called to the scene just before 4pm and the fire was brought under control at 6.10pm.
They used two hose reel jets, one thermal imaging camera, one covering jet and small tools to extinguish the fire, which started accidentally in a utility room and spread to the conservatory.
They also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the ground floor of smoke.
Two rooms were gutted, with the remainder of the ground floor sustaining 30 per cent smoke damage. Tthere were no casualties.
