NEW street name signs are to be installed in the new year for parts of the Cades Farm housing estate in Wellington in a bid to resolve delivery problems in two similarly named roads.
Residents of Aspin Road and Aspin Close have been plagued by post and packages going to the wrong addresses because of confusion with the two names.
So, during the autumn, local Conservative councillors surveyed every house in the two streets to ask how bad was the problem and what people believed should be done about it.
Nearly 60 per cent of those who responded had experienced post or parcel delivery problems, and improving the street signage was the favoured solution.
The estate’s Somerset county councillor John Thorne, who is also a Wellington town councillor, said: “I am pleased that the Deane council has acted so quickly on the findings of our survey to agree the new signage."
