POLICE are still looking for bungling ram raiders who spectacularly reversed a Landrover into the Spar shop and petrol station, Longforth Road, Wellington in the early hours of last Wednesday.

The shop, owned by Hugh Duder, was back in business within 48 hours of the raid, in which the raiders, believed to have targeted a cash machine, left empty handed after crushing shelving against it making it inaccessible.

Yesterday, Tuesday, workmen were rebuilding the shop front, destroyed when the red Landrover Defender 4x4 was reversed through it.

Wallpaper pasting tables had been pressed into service as makeshift displays.
