WWN reader Graham Fancy of Mantle Street, Wellington, got in touch about the photo of Tonedale Boys Club and Bible Class of 1926 which appeared in last week’s paper.

Graham recognised his father, William, who was probably about 18 at the time, pictured in the front row, second from left. He said his father was keen on the boys’ club and played rugby and boxed.

William worked for Fox Bros and in many other jobs, including in the Co-Op bakehouse and maintaining council sewage pipes. He died in 1970.
