AN indoor market is set to arrive in Wellington later this month.

Starting from Saturday, March 30 in the Quaker Meeting House off the High Street, the first in what is hoped to be a series of regular indoor markets will take place in the town centre.

The initiative is being led by Lee Edmead, also of the town’s folk society, who said his aim was to create a “traditional” indoor mixed market, selling vinyl records, CDs, books, plants, art, antiques and more, adding: “You just don’t know what you will find. Help this grow, come down to get a bargain, while remaining protected from the elements, whatever the weather.

If you are interested in having a stall at the indoor market, you can contact Lee by email at [email protected]

The news comes days after the town council said it would have a serious rethink over the street market, after traders raised concern over a loss of custom.
