STAFF and children at Nynehead Under-Fives Pre-school & Forest School are celebrating after receiving a ‘Good’ verdict following an OFSTED inspection. The report said:
Staff are very attentive and the children form warm, trusting relationships with them, and staff have positive relationships with parents.
Children are emotionally secure and demonstrate high levels of confidence and self-esteem – they make good progress effectively across all areas of learning.
All children learn to value the benefits of others and they celebrate different cultural and religious festivals.
The pre-school is set in rural surroundings where children can play and explore generous outside space. That has been enhanced by the addition of an outside classroom, built by landlord Frank Roffe-Silvester with the aid of a Taunton Deane Borough Council Voluntary & Community Sector grant.
Following the inspection the pre-school has introduced a ‘Wake and Shake’ session every morning to promote cardio-vascular exercise. It is also in the process of arranging age-appropriate Physical Exercise sessions in addition to usual playground activities.
The pre-school is open Monday to Friday – term time only – 7.30am-5.30pm for children aged from 12 months to five years.
Everyone is welcome when the pre-school holds a Christmas chocolate bingo on Friday, December 9 – doors open at 6.30pm – in the Orangery at Nynehead Court, Nynehead.
