THE Wellington Basins Volunteer Group is holding an open afternoon on Sunday (September 17).

Members of the group will be available to tell visitors about the history of the Basins and the work going on there.

The event coincides with a fishing match, which finishes at 4pm, so visitors can see what fish are in the ponds before they are returned to the water.

The event runs from 2-4pm and tea/coffee and soft drinks will be available at a small charge to cover costs.
